They were Bharat Ratnas; These are Akhand Bharat Ratnas!

Till the day before yesterday, the highest civilian award, India could bestow upon her citizens, was Bharat Ratna. Since then, it is crying to change its name; the most appropriate one seems to be Akhand Bharat Ratna.

Bharat Ratnas were those who worked tirelessly in the face of tyranny of imperial British India to salvage a geography that reflected the essence of Indian subcontinent. It was well within the age old ideology of this land mass:

  • non-expansionism of national border through war on others
  • peaceful coexistence
  • tolerance to diversity with a sense of joy
They suffered reverses in their quest for an India that many thought would be a failed experiment in the face of enormous diversity. They waged long battle for their dream, a patient one opposing an impatient barbaric world power. Their ideology was cast in stone; they were not like: one day deriving strength from diversity the other day plotting against the diversity. They wanted a Bharat that truly sustainable and a glorious example for those who were just out of a bloody battle of world war failing to appreciate diversity in their so called modern world.

These tireless crusaders were successful till the day, those who were indifferent to all these efforts won majority in Indian Parliament for being the rescuers of their Maal, HINDUS.

Without a stake in Bharat, they have been propagating the idea of Akhand Bharat. They have excelled in selling combs to bald and mirrors to blinds.

As they have successfully drawn sympathy in their favor for not being able to rule Delhi for 60 years; they are now trying to draw sympathy for leaders who wagged their tail before the Britishers, because three of the Nehru-Gandhis have got the Bharat Ratna.

The best argument they can come up with while defending Bahrat Ratna to people with all the credentials of a TRAITOR is that:

  • Nehru nominated himself for the award
  • Indira nominated herself for the award
  • Vajpayee rejected his nomination
If you hear this argument, it would seem like the sole criteria for being eligible for Bharat Ratna is to deny the nomination when you are the PM; that's all! The contribution of Nehru and Indira in building and strengthening Bharat stands further weakened before the contribution of a British Stooge Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the light of this great sabotage to the peace of Bharat forever.

Welcome to Akhand Bharat, bow before Akhand Bharat Ratnas!

So You Sowed, but He is Reaping!

As a child, all of us would have heard, "As you sow, so you will reap." That statement is so prone to misuse, especially, if you are a woken-up and aware citizen of India in the last one year or so. Also our recent habit of fast-food life, where we want things rendered at the click of a button, makes us believe what usually a man with a reasonable head wont.

To them, the proverb stands; but to those who had sown, it has become,
"So you sowed, but he is reaping!"

Let us start with democracy, which has been the legacy of Congress. Baring the mention of Janapada, (as far as I can pick up from my distant memory of my history books in school days) a democratic setup in some areas in ancient India, we had only kings, and sultans and more kings, till India started its journey to redeem the pledge of its "Tryst with its destiny". Democracy and scientific temper had to be ship of the voyage that India started in 1947.

When a part time tea hawker and seasoned riot organizer, rose to occupy the post of Prime-minister of India, he was essentially reaping the benefit of what Congress has sown over the years. He acknowledged that by honoring the post of PM in his usual dishonorable way, when he repeatedly gave calls for "Congress Mukt Bharat."

Since the day, he has risen to his much cherished political post, he is on a spree to inaugurate projects and heaping praise on himself and occasionally on Mr. Vajpayee; as if, you have to have a start date and end date of any project!

Like the MOM of ISRO; a project conceptualized and successfully executed in just three years by ISRO; Modiji painted it, as if, the glorious episode in Indian space technology was started by Mr. Vajpayee between 1998 to 2004 and completed by he himself in just 100 days into power in Delhi.

"Nothing Happened in Last 60 Years"
It would be unfair to accuse him for such day light robbery on his own; in pulling off such a HEIST his accomplice was as usual the media. The media was previously  found to be beating his drum, while he was impressing Japanese with his skills from his RSS sakha days. The media forgot the tremendous synergy brought into the Indo-Japanese relationship by previous Govt; many of the members of these media accompanied Dr. Singh to each such Japanese visits. In matter of fact, two such visits had happened in 2013 itself; this time though these media guys have to book their ticket and carry their bed-holders on their own.

Then he was caught cleaning an already cleaned road on the occasion of "Swacha Bharat" photo-op in the capital. And boy, that was another name changing exercise; Nirmala Bharat mission, started in 2012, was renamed for no other reason than may be vastu sastra.

"Delhi is so Dirty, Ahmadabad is so Clean"

Given a chance he would shout "Kuch nehin hua 60 saal main," but be very careful to dress for the inauguration events. He would inaugurate War ships and say that we have done nothing in the last 60 years, so he would rename National Manufacturing Policy initiatives, to Make in India.

Today, as I write, many bhaktas are sounding "Mayyyyyyy" as Modiji is inaugurating Shrameva Jayatey; his media friends have started making "First Time Ever" headlines.

But truth is that the event
"EPFO approves Rs 1,000 minimum monthly pension" happened, in Feb 2014.

One media friend says,
"Each of the six to seven lakh industrial units in the country will also get a unique Labour Identification Number, or LIN.

A unified labour and industrial portal, where all data will be stored. The other will be the "Labour Inspection Scheme," which aims at ending arbitrariness in the inspection mechanism."
This is Mithyameva Jayatey, the truth is here:
Oscar Fernandes Inaugurates Unified Single Portal for Ministry of Labour & Employment

This has already happened in 13-February-2014.

"Mithyameva Jayatey"

Then there is this, Sansada Adarsh Grama Yojana; really is it the produce of the fertile mind of Modiji? In fact, it is the RURBAN program of UPA, with a twist. The twist is that now the center would take over Panchayatiraj and the clarion call of decentralization of Modiji will be shoved under the carpet. This is what this media report says:
Modi's model village project to merge mutilple welfare schemes

While pointing at these concrete instances, I am also speculating about the fate of those in the green room. One of that is JNNURM, which is going to be masked through the much hyped smart city drama. What is a smart city and what are their parameters for smartness? Even the budget which allocates 7000 crore for 100 cities is criminally silent about it? I have just one simple request, please do not indulge in re-branding exercise before the friendly media.

Bio-metric Attendance System for Bureaucrats: Did Modi Invent it?

For last few days, there has been a rush for reporting about a new website attendance.gov.in, simultaneously making a concerted attempt to prove that PM, Narendra Modi, is the brain and hand behind it. Definitely, we have to give it where it is due. It is a very good initiative to track the bureaucrats at work.
All of us might not be able to keep an eye on the website, but it would serve as a stick for the lax bureaucrats and hopefully improve service delivery.

For guaranteed service delivery to the citizen and ensuring accountability, I think Modi govt must quicken the process to push the UPA brain child, "Right of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances Bill, 2011" in parliament. Coupled with this, the bureaucrats would also be productive instead of finding ingenious ways to remain in office and play cards inside office.

Let me pull myself back to the original idea behind the blog. The point, I essentially wanted to make was that, this bio-metric attendance system is nothing to do with the fertile mind of Modiji. In fact, this has been an old idea, implemented at several central govt departments as well as several state governments have also implemented it or in the process to implement it.

Some sample of such things are provided below:

Yes, in 2007, Gujarta Govt started bio-metric attendance pilot project in tribal schools and in 2009 HCL was awarded a project to implement it in 7000 schools. They have also implemented it for checking the availability of traffic police at traffic junctions.
But, I did not come across any instance when the bio-metric system is used at secretariat or any other govt offices.

What the central govt has done today, one of the poorest state govt, Jharkhand has done several months back.

You can check the POLITICAL COLOR of the Jharkhand Govt. :) Yes, it is also AADHAAR linked. Do you know who is implementing it even if it can be an act of contempt of SC judgement not to recognize AADHAAR because of the lack of parliamentary nod to its proposed bill? It is none other than Mr. Ram Sewak Sharma the director general of UIDAI from 2009 to 20103. (He himself bio metrically profiled Mr. Modi on 1 May,2012.)
One interesting thing comes up while I write this. Remember, BJP and the stance it had against AADHAAR. BJP called it a fraud and what not. You can enjoy more of such adjectives against AADHAAR during the election campaign in the following links:

In nutshell:

  • BJP opposed AADHAAR vehemently on all political forums
  • Modiji is not the pioneer in implementing bio-metric attendance system at his office
  • UPA initiated the move towards such a system in central govt offices
  • Jharkhand govt (Supported by Congress) is first to come up with the portal for the AADHAAR linked bio-metric attendance system; not MODI govt.
So, the myth has to be dispelled that Modi is the mind behind such a move. It is another instance of how Media is helping Modiji to take the credit for a UPA initiated program.

Technology is the biggest social leveler, second only to Death!

I was listening to Sam Pitroda, the bundle of energy, and feeling how useless am I! The interviewer just put a question, and in reply, Sam talked for about 20 mins at a stretch with passion of a child. I talked like that when I talk about the need of "Idea of India."

But, this line, "Technology is the biggest social leveler, second only to Death!" just struck me so hard. I just repeated that sentence several times in my mind, and it only made me feel brighter. It was like a bright light of TRUTH.

Just few hours back, while commuting to office on my cycle, I saw the same scene repeated at one signal; a couple sitting on the footpath and enjoying their breakfast, with beautiful smile on their face. Everyday, I see them, and I feel happy that they are so happy. Imagine, great minds working out a solution where this couple do not have to stay on footpath without losing their smile. I guarantee that they do not smile because they are content, they smile because that they have nothing beyond that to lose or ponder about. While saying so, I am not saying that to be content, you need to be rich. What I am saying is that, somebody has to find a solution beyond designing a luxurious flat where the solution can assure a dignity of life under a shelter while ensuring a livelihood avenue nearby.

Look at the communication technology space in India's context. As I speak, we have 950 million people connected over the air at the press of a button; now a days we have gone smarter and we touch. :) Remember a land-line 20 years back, it used to be the symbol of LORDSHIP in society. Wireless technology has flattened the social disparity and made billionaires and daily laborers at the same level; at least as far as catching words from thin air is concerned.

Look at food security in India; till late 60s and early 70s our PM would go to developed countries and negotiate for food aid to feed India. What a Shame! Now, as I speak we export  $ 20 billion worth food to world after feeding our 1.2 billion people. Do you think it happened because PC Sorkar waved his magic wand! No, it happened because of the technology assimilation through the program called Green revolution. That revolution coupled with White revolution has made India self-sufficient in food production. Now, we desperately need a technological revolution in the field of mechanized agriculture, food storage, processing and distribution. The technology is there but the design needs to be affordable and sustainable in a price sensitive market like India or say Africa.

Look at the figure above. This happened because of the intervention of technology! India leaders are no more required to feel low for pleading for food at the doorstep of the developed world.

There used to be a time when India was home to the largest population of polio infected citizens anywhere on the earth. Imagine, the feel of standing straight on ones own leg and looking eye to eye. A pair of healthy legs is certainly a great social leveler. India recognized that shame as late as Rajeev Gandhi's tenure, when world was looking at us with a sense of frustration. That shameful situation forced us to go for Vaccination and that required India to produce vaccines in house. Imagine the benefit of that today; we not only are the largest producer of vaccines in the world, but also are Polio free for the last several years. That push in vaccine production also have made India the largest producer of generic producer in the world. India is in the middle of a bloody battle for bringing some parity and sense into the blood sucking world of pharmaceutical industry.

While I write, our PM would have repeated the same analogy of Auto fare/km vice versa the cost of a ticket to Mars to the world audience elsewhere without understanding the years of effort behind the same. ISRO is a fertile incubator of technological leapfrogging. We started getting into the space by trying to build simple solutions through remote sensing technology. ISRO is not the product of insane race to space; it is a sensible voyage to make the space useful to us. Be it tele-medicine, oceanography, earth survey for mining purpose, weather forecasting, connecting a billion through communication satellites, content delivery across universities through V-sat. You count, ISRO has done it for the betterment of society as a whole; from space world looks flat. :)

It is not possible to write in a single blog how technology is a great leveler. Look at me, a simple Technical Writer could express his views on a concept as vast as this sitting at his desk and expect the world reads it. So, that is the beauty of Technology; it flattens the world.

Modia in Service of Modi Sarkar

I am yet to understand why the PM of India deserve a honeymoon period. As far as my brush with such a term go, I can only remember the term as a property of Media used in a satirical sense. I just could not understand the PM of India to CLAIM such a period in governance with so much SERIOUSNESS. For me, it is not only outrageous to compare the new Govt as a new marriage and the PM as the Bride Groom, but  also the nonchalant manner in which the PM looks at GOVERNANCE; his root mantra during election campaign. The media did serious INTROSPECTION of the WHINING through their trademark prime-time event of shouting and shoving.

Let us look at few of the obeisance from the Modi Mouthpiece i.e. the new age MODIA.

Narendra Modi clamps down on junkets by netas...

Such news makes great headlines, like kejriwal denied SPG protection. Even former Home Minister did not have SPG cover. But, those were never reported and nobody bother to gloat over it as it should be.

But the fact is the if you remove Narendra Modi from the headline and put Deve Gowda, the procedure will remain the same; lets not delve into the BOMBASTIC adjectives those follow Narendra Modi.

The process of any foreign visit of any GOI officials remain the same; all such travel plan have to be finally approved by the PMO. So, what is new about these circulars that the MODIA make it as if some discovery in GOVERNANCE?

Modi govt asks ministers to disclose their assets withing two months

It is another piece of boot-licking from MODIA. It has been a practice in GOI to report the assets of ministers by July end. So, what is the point making "Modi Asked...blha blha"

Why so much worshiping?

Kaun Hey Yeh BABA?

Don't touch feet, just be good parliamentarian...

All these are good soundbites, but what is reality?

Sampled few of the MODIA prayers for their God Modi. You can get it every day and they are so annoyingly floating on the new-portals  that you start thinking; what is next, should I stop going to the portals? I have already stopped going to their TV SATSANGAS?

Campaign Tall Talk VS Governance Tough Ask

I am not among those fuel sensitive people, who got riled up and start shouting slogans with different voices when there is a rise or fall of fuel price. The reason is, I know, Fuel price has one way to chart; unless we discover that sea water can be a substitute to scarce petrochemicals. Also, I commute to office on my Cycle. :)

These words of justification for fuel price rise from a CONGI will be a music to those Sanghi who are trying hard to justify each "U" turn of Modi Sarkar. I believe, most of the Congi would have a consistent stand on fuel price hike, train fair hike or similar such tough but INEVITABLE measures.

But, the issue becomes little complicated when you look at the campaign utterances and promises in the official party election manifesto, RIDING which the party has got the strongest mandate in terms of number in loksabha since 1984. Clearly, the voters 81% of them thought Congress has failed to deliver what it has promised, especially in the front of PRICE RISE. But, I guarantee they are merely showing knee jerk reactions to an issue which they seldom understand. Let me put two graphics to show what I am trying to say.

Crude Price Trend since 1997

Petrol Price in Metros Since 2002

The pictorial data I have posted above speak for them selves. Since Congress came to power, the CRUDE PRICE has shoot up from $35/37 in 2004 to $ 147 in 2008 and now stabilized over $ 100. I have given the trend of petrol in four metros from 2002.

If we look at it closely, these things happened during full UPA term:

  1. Development model changed from ONLY GROWTH to GROWTH +  INCLUSIVENESS
  2. Social sector funding was increased
  3. Fuel price was hiked to fund the spending
  4. World fuel price increased by many times
  5. Fuel subsidy also increased because Govt. failed to deregulate the fuel for OBVIOUS reasons
  6. World including India fought two back to back economic crisis
  7. Investment slows down
  8. Govt. chose social equity over growth thinking that investment in HR would pay rich dividend later
  9. Rural wage and consumption rose
  10. Prices shoot up and middle class felt cheated, but they were very much part of the Indian consumption story

These are the TOUGH TASK of governance. They were well intended, but things do not pan out as you plan in a complex politics like us along with the uncertainties of the connected world.

Narendra Modi, used these contradictions in Indian politics to reach the highest political office. He uttered what the people wanted to here and obviously they were not able to think beyond their small world. Many of them started believing what he was FAKING in the hope that this man will remove Congress from the path of "Achey Din" waiting for them. I have tried to collect few of his campaign rhetoric, below:

Some campaign Posters

Be it swearing in ceremony amidst the killing of soldiers on the LOC, the Chinese chopper in Arunchal, boats in ladkh or the map showing Arunchal as part of Chinese political map, be it his lack of response when a techies was killed in Pune and then crying for lack of honeymoon; reflects that this is not campaign. This is rigor of Governance and time to full fill the Tall Campaign Talk into reality.

There is another talk of abolishing Planning Commission; such talk of destruction of institutions are all good and can be passed on as flavor of the time. Right now, out of Anna Drama and Kejri Dharna, we all want to pull down one institution the other for the collective satisfaction of the MOB. Such news bites are great to here, as that reflects some sort of DYNAMISM in the Govt. But, does it mean that India will not have any institution which will do a medium to long term planning? Obviously, we need one. For the shake of doing something, Modi Sarkar might at best replace Planing commission with another lose body with personnel drawn from all ministries; just to show that this is "Less Govt & More Governance" But in few years, that has to be turned into a concrete platform with accountability built into it. Then people will call it another Planning commission. :)

Governance is Tough Task; Campaign is just Tall Talk.

SAARC Satellite, Sai Baba is Muslim, RSS Appeared & Passed the MP Exam (SCAM)

Gift a Satellite to SAARC

Do you think, he is asking "Kitni deti Hey?" :)
Indian PM on the occasion of an opportunistic appearance at the cradle of FRUGAL ENGINEERING  ORGANIZATION i.e. ISRO tried to PROPEL his so called Statesmanship to another level. He wanted ISRO to build one SATELLITE for SAARC nations as a Gift. That would be a costly gift if he wants to make good on the saree he received from his Pakistan counterpart. Nevertheless, that is a great sound bite from an unexpected source. Now, we have to see, how much fund is going to be allocated for the same in the upcoming union budget.

He looks to be quite worried man. Don't worry, Mr. finance minister, a satellite can be made at the budget of few thousands; those tiny satellites from college labs. :)

The Modia Statesman should do one thing before embarking on his IMAGE MAKEOVER DRAMA; he should allow Pakistani media channels in India. Can he do it?

RSS Appeared & Passed the MP Exam (SCAM) - VYAPAM

While, the MODIA is doing everything to address the complain of Sulking Modi for lack of honeymoon,we are unfortunately being kept away from some very important revelations. The investigations being carried out in MP on the order of Lokayukt fro the last six months, has brought a large number of TOP politicians including the WIFE of MP's CAESAR aka MAMAJI in to a very uncomfortable limelight.

That same investigation also brought some TOP RSS leaders into picture. When things got little more talked about, the Mp police did a great "U" turn and gave clean chit to the RSS leadership. This is a great performance of RSS guys who APPEARED and SUCCESSFULLY PASSED the MP exam Scam.

These guys have gave life to see BJP rise to power, and naturally they should enjoy some Govt. comfort and that is only what they were trying to extract. We are just making mountain out of molehill. ;)

Shankara Charya: Do not Worship Sai Baba, the MUSLIM FAKIR!

He is other-wisely quite a sensible man; but this reasoning of shunning Sai Baba because, he is JUST a MUSLIM FAKIR  is quite a stretch. I think that should be the reason why he should be respected and emulated. I am not a religious person to endorse what is happening in Shirdi in HIS name, but not a unreasonable person to toe the line of a RICH religious AUTHORITY too.

Worship Sai baba or not, but a least try to live a life which is 1% of his life; an example of austerity given his influence on the lives of people in that area.

Achey Din Ayaa Kya? No Honeymoon for the Moon Seller, No to Condom and Sex Education, Sonia-Rahul Key Achey Din

So, there are some enthusiastic fans of Achey Din who are little pissed off because they can not wait for few more years before the Achey Din finally hit the MARKET. Apparently they have filed an PIL for the same. It is high time that the courts have to take the PIL business little more seriously to see if it is actually serving the purpose. But in the view of,  Delhi Lokayukta indicting Sheila Dixit for her pre-poll promises, this seems to be QUITE FAIR.

Let's see how the Achey din is unfolding!

Sulking Modi Complains About Lack of Honeymoon Period

Which Honeymoon is he referring to; the one 44 years before or does the Constitution has a provision of a honeymoon period for a new Govt in office?

How do you have HoneyMoon? You have promised to turn India the land of HONEY and gift them the Dream of Moon, if they oust Congress from power. Now, that they have done it and you have failed them from the Day One; can you get any sympathy for your IMPOTENCY?

Note: This Impotency is similar to that Subramnyam Swamy used for Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the floor of the parliament.

Harsha Vardhan Uvacha: No to Sex Education in Schools

No, he is not the descendant of  the great Harsha Vardhan the jewell of Pushyabhuti or the Vadhan dynasty. He was more sensible than our Health Minister and perpetual CM in waiting Mr. Hasha Vardhan. Just a month in to office, he has stated talking like a VIADRAJ in Modi Dynasty. First, he reminded us of our GREAT CULTURE and asked us to count on that over CONDOM to prevent AIDS.

I do not understand what CULTURE he is talking about; the culture which has made India a 125 crore and counting ENTERPRISE? By his assertion, India would be providing grants to the developed west, which has no CULTURE of their own.

Add to that, he has problem with Sex Education at schools. When a portion of Patna is Wi-Fied and a the whole India will be broadbanded through 64000 Km of National Optical Fiber Network in few years, this SANGHI Vaidraj has clearly missed the bus.

Are Maa-Bete being Fixed!

Even if the new Sarkar decides to have a ministry of Fixing Maa-Bete, that should not raise any brouhaha. It is perfectly in harmony with the campaign sentiment of BJP. For a Congress Mukt Bharat for which all the conventional media has dumped the party to turn MODIA; it is a perfect strategy to rid Congress to have its own MOUTHPIECE.
The National Herald was founded by Pt. Nehru in 1937 to counter the British propaganda was thought to be do the same for Congress, which lost the election entirely due to the MODIA onslaught. But, it seems BJP is doing all its can to stop Congress to have a say.

Look at the choicest image MODIA has for the duo to understand how important The young India Ltd. is as an alternate Media outlet against the current sold out MODIA.

Achey Din 6/26/2014: Modi vs MMS, Subverting Judiciary, Politics in Education, Railway vs Home

It is not a very tall ask that I should be able to write at least 500 words a day apart from my official work. But, that is still not happening. I do not know whether this new attempt is going to achieve that wish; lets see.

The Sanghi PM, Sri Narendra Modi, is going to complete his first month in office today. By his standard, the tenure is a Pin-Drop-Silent one. It is not that there was nothing to speak; rather there were many things to indulge in fist fight on national TV like:

  • Arnab's Brawl
  • Rahul's Court
  • Barkha's Darbar
  • Rajdeep's Reliance :)

Yet, he chose to give a parting shot to the former PM, Dr. Manmohan Singh, whom they called
MOUN Mohan Singh. Fair enough!

While scrolling through the Web page of several news portals, I thought, without putting my comment there below the news items, it would be great If I put them on my blog. This may help me achieve my objective of writing at least 500 words each day. :)

Lets begin!

Chaos of  Sound vs Silence of Lamp

56 inch nu Whatever and 283 nu Number is of no use, if you are not SURE. And if a dispensation is not sure with such physical prowess and Parliamentary muscle; then what can be construed?  This is not like one off incident; there are trends of such U turns in the last 30 days of Modi sarkar, like:

  • Train price roll back
  • Article 370
  • Gas & diesel pricing

Dr. Singh with 145 Congress member did not even bat his eye-lid once when Left walked away UPA 1 over Nuclear deal. He did it again, when TMAC and DMK left UPA 2 when certain pro-reform stands were taken. A decision can be wrong or right; it can not partially right or wrong. All the time his silence spoke and that was louder than any orchestrated vibrataion of  vocal cord of a 56 inch nu seena.

Gopal Subramanium HAD to turn-down the offer of CJI for he OFFERED ROSE PETAL to GANDHI!

Is this related to article 377? Well, very likely. How can a married old man offer rose petals to a widower? That is gross by the standard of SANGHIS; even if they have ENSURED that the widower is a mere statue.

Jokes apart, it seems the Modi Sarkar wants to subvert the judiciary to their liking as that is the last bastion of opposition the COHORTS of criminal expect a setback from.

So, Judiciary has also tested the "Achey Din" of Modi Sarkar. It is even more dangerous that on the day Smt. Indira Gandhi called emergency 38 years before, the SC is capitulating to the WHIM of the Govt.

Smriti Irani (Jo Abhi Bhi 12th class hey) Firing Politics at DU Over the Shoulder of UGC

Did SaaS ever applied for DU and she was rejected due to high cut-off? It seems SaasU Maa is targeting to complete her B.A. or B.Com, aren't they same?  :)

On a serious note, the former HRD minister, who completed all his degrees TRUTHFULLY, wrote a very detailed article about the role of UPA in dealing with autonomous bodies like DU and UGC. In contrast, the Modi Sarkar is doing all its take to take forward the unfinished agenda of previous NDA regime to SAFFRONISE education. In the same breath, I want to also denounce the stance taken by the NSUI in this regard. I do not believe that one year is sufficient to judge, rectify and reject a new system.

Rajdhani Accident; Tussle between Railway and home Minstry

It was not an unusual scene on a railway track. But, it assumed more importance because the train was a RAJDHANI train. Rich or poor, any life lost is avoidable and we can only have sympathy for the deceased and the injured ones.

But, the problem is the way different departments trying to split the hair. Railway is calling it a sabotage, where as Home Minister is calling it an accident. I hope the Supreme Leader of Modi Sarkar pronounce the final reason of this accident soon.

Silence of NOISE!

According to Shekhar Gupta, the dream year for the journalists was 1984. That year so many things happened in Indian political space that the news desks were feeling resource crunch to cover them. I do not know about that. I just can remember, I was 2 and Half years then and my father took me to the Kendrapara High school Ground to see Indira Gandhi. That was her last visit to Odisha. I do not know, how can I have a photographic memory of that event till now, I can not remember anything close to that during that time; may be morning shows the day. :)

Then I remember several noisy elections in rural setup; those were quite colorful. I loved the election counting days, because we would have back to back movies on Doordarshan. Still, they were not noisy. The Noise increased with the advent of Private TV channels. The noise level broke limits when the Jamuna water sipped into the newly prepared Common Wealth Game Village buildings; Arnab Goswamy reached his teen,  Rahul Knawal was born and Barkha bruised by Radi tapes, was trying to regain her youth.
And this was the time, a well orchestrated Noisy drama made its way into Indian politics. The main protagonist of that drama was Narendra Modi who was smart enough to understand the requirement of the new age media houses. They were competing for NOISE and the NOISE himself was available.

The noise was Narendra Modi.

The NOISE made its way through the following stages:

Stage 1:

First few years the noise was in the form of CAG reports and then the related pandemonium in the parliament and he subsequent replacement of Parliament debate by debates in corporate funded media houses.

Stage 2:

Then the staged crusade against corruption through Saffron agents like Anna Hazare, Ram dev, Kiran Bedi and controversial Army chief V.K Singh.

Stage 3:
New media enterprise in the form of Unreal Times and Faking News, which took over the imagination of gossip loving Indian youths.

Stage 4:

Then the noise was spread onto the social media in the form of filthy cartoons of Dr. Manmohan singh and Smt. Sonia Gandhi and spoofs of  Rahul Gandhi on Youtube.

Stage 5:
Suddenly from no where the Gujrat Model hit the stand. It was a classical Shock & Awe drill played on bot the social media and mainstream media like economic Times.

Stage 5:
Dec 16 rape in Delhi, one of the well orchestrated movements that build the crescendo before the NOISE himself made an entry.

Stage 6:
Finally, the NOISE made a grand entry with his modulating voice. Even, on the Republic Day, he challenged the PM of India; even Pakistan will never do it.

This is how NOISE spoke fro the last 4 years. No issue was given a go by to target Dr. Singh. Be it:

  • the CAG report
  • the killing of Army jawan on the border
  • the corruption issue
  • the rape in dec 16
  • the price of Diesel
  • the Gas price hike

People of India; 31% of them lapped it up; India finally elected her 15th PM. Suddenly, he became an orator to Narendra Damodar Mauni.

On 21st May i.e. five days before taking oath of the office , he siad,
CAG reports must not be used to target opponents
Impressive start, isn't it? The media which has MODIfied itself now into MOIDA played the ball shamelessly. There was no heated debate in TV studios and that was great precursor for the impending SILENCE that was coming our way.

Then came the report of a killing of army jawan on the border, still the new Mauni baba went ahead and literally bent at 45 degree before Nawaz Shariff.

No question was asked or no answer was given.

Then cams the occasion of inducting Ministers, he did not falter. He went ahead and presided over one of the most criminal cabinet in history.

No question was asked or no answer was given.

Then cam the appointment of former TRAI chief Nirpinder Mishra as Principle Secretary through a ordinance rout, when NDA enjoys a majority in Loksbaha. Remember, Mr. Mishra was the person on whose advice A. Raja turned down the PM and FM suggestions to auction 2G spectrum. Later the same was use PRESUMED as a scam by CAG and Modi used that handle to ASSUME power at center.

No question was asked or no answer was given.

Then came the barbaric rape and murder in Badaun in UP. The man who was asking for vote using the insecurity of Dec 16 rape incident, suddenly went into a mute mode. Even the UN Secretary General was forced to make a statement, but he is yet to make one.

No question was asked or no answer was given.

One fine morning, we read a news in some corner of the news papers (there was no breaking news) that Diesel price has been increased.

No question was asked or no answer was given.

Then came the news of gas price hike; we came to know about it looking at the share value of Ambani on Stock Exchange. This man was opposing the Gas price hike before election.

No question was asked or no answer was given.

So much silence from the Embodiment of NOISE, that people are concerned whether it is an ISI conspiracy. :)

Silence of NOISE is a concern as, this man ran a concerted campaign against the Silence of Dr. Singh before election, and when he assumed it, he is not speaking on important issues which is making him look like a HYPOCRITE.

First Wicket has Fallen! Modi 2.0 is the Bowler!!

The day BJP own the national election, I changed my SM profiles with this photo. you do not need to believe in astrology to do a forecast about what a Modi sarkar will be. You just need to look at their rise to power; which is all about their intolerance based on some narrow religious identity.

It was good to hear some reassuring words from Modi when he became the 15th PM of India. Since, he has been giving good sound bites which would have forced some independent observer to qualify the overtures as attempts to outreach. Some are hoping that Modi would be transformed from Modi 1.0 to Modi 2.0. Well, he might have already been transformed, with his journey from the CM of Gujrat to the PM of Indian. At least today, I do not see any change in his inner-self apart from his well scripted sound bites.

Many stalwarts are eager to speculate and see a statesman in him, when he is yet to make any real effort to shade the tag of 2002. In the interview to Arnmab Goswamy, he came down heavily on Gujrat SIT for implicating his Women & child Development Minister, Maya Kodnani; and did a great hydra act to heap praise on the same SIT to give him a clean chit at the level of the sessions court.

So, is this the sign of a person who wants to CHANGE? I at least, can not accept such silly charade and pretend to have discovered a Statesman.

Now, after wining the election, when world was going gaga over his possible transformation, looking at the enormity of the post he is going to hold as PM of a piece of land mass which tests the limit of diversity, he was in a different mood. He was planning how to award the riot accused in Muzaffarnagar riot.

Those who do not understand the significance of the occasion, they must be told that BJP increased its tally from 10 seats in 2009 to 73 in 2014. This is nothing less than BJP coming to power in Gujrat after 2002 riot.

So, there has to be a Maya kodnani in union ministry too. So, Sanjeev Balayan was rewarded aptly.

As the Modi 2.0 occupied Delhi, he became unusually SILENT. While a soldier was killed on the Indo-Pak border, he chose to bend before Pak PM. His ministers were found to be lying under oath, but he was silent because he was no MORALITY to ask questions to his minister for obvious reasons.

The heart wrenching rape in UP while forced UN to take note, our glib PM was found wanting in expressing his views.

All this was happening,  and still our media was heaping praise for him being very vocal about issues. Somebody should wake them up for their dream that the election campaign is over and Modi has stopped talking.

Finally, within a 10 days of his CORONATION, as several of his Bhakta are describing huis swearing-in-ceremony, an Indian was beaten to death for sporting a beard and wearing a skull cap. This is after the Hindutva forces went on rampage damaging 250 buses in Pune over a FB post.

And, how are they describing it?

FIRST WICKET HAS FALLEN!
And who is the Bowler? It's Modi 2.0.

Are Seculars Sick? Should I Reject it because Communalism Won?

It is vivid in my mind. It had a great impact on me since my childhood. I remember my father, a bureaucrat in revenue department of Odisha Govt., used to take me through the crowded by-lanes of Muslim dominated areas of my town, Kendrapara, Odisha. It was a scooter ride and father used to tell me while passing through the by-lane, that we must not make them feel isolated

He was a SICKULAR and I am his SON, a proud son.

I am writing it after reading through few paragraphs of an article on The Hindu, "How Modi Defeated Liberals Like me?"

Lately, a new change I have marked in my father. Last several years, he has developed a slight dislike for Muslims and spends a lot of his retired life watching several serials; one of them at the top of his priority list is Rana Pratap. Yes, that serial where Muslim invaders are ICONISED with a prominent deep cut on their cheek/nose with an indelible mark of intimidating mole. My 5/6 year old Bhanja can identify these medieval characters on the road without these cut and mole; they just need to have a trademark Beard.

Welcome to new India!

The serials which I grew with up were Ramayana, Mahabharata, Param Veer Chakra, The Sword of Tipu Sultan and Bharat Ek Khoj. I can still remember running to home on the bank of a meandering Canal after the Sunday morning study at a relative's home, so that I do not miss the title song of Param veer Chakra. I can faintly remember the episode how Abdul Hamid  earned his Param veer Chakra. I can vividly remember, that I was crying like a child (I was a child then) when Tipu was killed.

Do you think I was SICKULAR from my child hood? Do you think, I was Muslim loving Left Liberal at the age of 8/9?  Do you think, I grew up in the middle of a Muslim ghetto?

No. I grew up in a village right among the Brahmin community that I belong to. I remember grand mother forcing me to take a purifying bathe for accidentally touching the washer woman who used to come regularly to collect dirty clothes for washing.

With such a childhood, now, I consider those as my Indianess. I consider them as my tribute to the forefathers who saw an India where we are Indians always and religious at home or religious places. That is what I believe is secularism and that is not a disease.

The article which forced me to write this, depicted as if no political leader till Narendra Modi's aarati at the Ganga, had the audacity to practice religion in the glare of camera.

Was that a correct assessment? Or these are the sounds of convenience in tune to the changed political wind of the season?

I think this is nothing but a counter narrative to demolish Nehru. The last political leader who had a scientific temper was Pt. Nehru; the subsequent ones have shamelessly displayed their religious nature by falling before the Dhongi Babas, carrying chaddars to mosques, doing aarati/havan at temples.

With such overwhelming evidence of too much religion in politics, intellectuals to bash Secularism as the reason to piss the middle class off is a blatant lie. This propaganda of these intellectuals are only to discredit secularism and the proponents of the same.

Secularism is in our blood, it exhorts us to respect another religion. As a majority community, it adds another responsibility towards the minorities who we live with; the responsibility of their well-being. If that has pissed off the middle-class, then we have to be worried about as a nation' not about the relevance of secularism.

Secularism is being targeted in the name of appeasement for minorities. If there was appeasement, then Sachar committee report would not have been a reality today.

The reality is society is getting more and more selfish.  The rich, after denying level playing field to the poor for years, can not digest that resources are slowly being directed towards them for their upliftment.

Propaganda against secularism is just an extension of that selfishness. The majority thinks, nation can be realized based on a religion and sharing resource with religious minorities is unnecessary.

The  victorious commmunalism is trying to give the last push to Indian sensibilities. If we do not withstand that and shade secularism in response, we will be the partner in crime of changing the DNA of India once and for all.
